Greenlight Publishing respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect on our website and in the Greenlight app, how we use it, and what rights you have. Short version: we collect what’s needed to run your library, we don’t sell anything to anyone, and you can delete your account any time.

Information we collect

Newsletter subscription: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address.

Usage data: We may collect anonymized usage data (pages visited, time on site, browser type) through analytics tools to improve the site experience. This data cannot identify you personally.

The Greenlight app

If you create an account in the Greenlight app (or on our reading sites), we collect and store the following, linked to your account:

  • Account details: your name and email address as provided by Sign in with Apple (including Apple private-relay addresses if you choose to hide your email) or Google sign-in.
  • Library & progress: the books in your library, reading positions, listening progress, highlights, and notes — stored on our servers so your library syncs across devices.
  • Purchases & entitlements: your subscription tier and status, and purchase records. For App Store purchases these include Apple transaction identifiers; for web purchases, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple and Stripe process all payments.

How we use your information

  • To operate your account: sync your library, progress, and entitlements across devices and platforms.
  • To verify purchases and deliver the content you’ve paid for.
  • To send you new release announcements and imprint news (newsletter subscribers only).
  • To improve the site and app based on anonymized usage patterns.
  • To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We do not share your email address with third parties.
  • We do not track you across other websites or apps.
  • We do not see or store payment card details — payments are processed by Apple (in the app) or Stripe (on the web).
  • We do not use your reading data or submitted data to train AI systems.

Your rights

You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. You can delete your Greenlight account directly in the app: Profile → Delete account. Deletion becomes permanent after a 30-day grace period; signing back in within those 30 days cancels it. You may also request deletion of any of your data by contacting privacy@greenlight-publishing.com. If you are based in the EU/UK or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / CCPA — including the right to access, rectify, or port your data.

Data retention

Account data (profile, library, progress) is retained until you delete your account; after the 30-day grace period it is permanently removed or anonymized. Purchase records are kept only as long as required for entitlement delivery, accounting, and tax obligations. Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Anonymized usage data is retained for up to 12 months. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months for inquiry follow-up.
